In a Rut

Apparently I'm in a big rut when it comes to stitching.  I've lost interest in the two WIPS I had going, then I did a few Valentine themed designs, and promptly lost interest in those.  The past couple of days I've spent a lot of time looking at various projects and then discarding them for one reason or another.  *sigh*  And I was doing so good with the progress for a while.

I think the problem is new charts.  There are a couple that I'm just itching for and until they arrive - I placed an order for them with my birthday money on Monday - I'm just not going to be satisfied.  Here's hoping they get here quickly!

Weekend Project

Okay sorry for the lousy picture but I just got this finished and wanted to get something up on the blog, I'll take a better one tomorrow in the day light.  It's a project from the March 2012 issue of Cross-Stitch and Needlework.  Not 100% convinced I like the final product, it calls for DMC memory thread for the stalks of the hearts and I improvised by using 6-strands of plain old DMC.  I think I'll consider it for a day or two, and may get some of the memory thread and try that.  But its a cute, quick project and considering I just got the magazine Friday evening, I got it completed in record time.

More progress....

I need to move the design on the frame so I can continue up the right hand side so here's another quick progress pic before I move everything around.

Brrrr!

Super high windchill all day today and tonight there's a windchill warning, its something like -36C with the windchill.  But I guess we can't complain since this is the first time all winter that it's got down this low.  And by Saturday its supposed to warm up.  Fingers crossed!

Here's a shot of tonight's sunset.  It was bright orange when I took this photo but a little earlier it was totally shaded by the ice fog and just looked totally mysterious.  Wish I'd had my camera with me when it was like that.

But this shot turned out pretty cool too (no pun intended LOL)

Here's today's progress, I stitched white, lots and lots and LOTS of white.  Not the most entertaining but at least this section is almost complete now.

Monday 16 January 2012

Its Monday again...

Watched the Golden Globes last night and worked some more on A Warm Welcome.  Compared to last year's performance Ricky Gervais was rather tame, I kept expecting him to say something really controversial but I think maybe the Press Association put a muzzle on him.  The whole show was rather blah, but I'm glad Meryl Streep and George Clooney both won.   Hope they continue their winning ways right through the Academy Awards!

Oh and yesterday's 'blizzard'?  It fizzled out after a couple minutes, we got a dusting of snow, that's it!

A Start and a Finish!

Got the blue 28 ct to do the design from the British cross stitch magazine and started it, yay.  Love the colors, they almost seem springlike even though its obviously a Christmas design.

Finished the puzzle even though I swore I'd never get it done because once I got the church put together, there just seemed to be an awful lot of the same color pieces left.  Actually it only took a week and its not like I worked on it constantly.  Maybe I should try the 1000 piece puzzle next, at least it has more colors!

Hmm, just looked outside and its snowing like crazy.  Didn't even know we were supposed to get snow today.   But I can hardly see across the street right now.

Happy Friday

It's a sunny cold day here today and we're supposed to get more snow (of course we are, we need to make up for the rest of winter when we didn't get any LOL).  But I've made some more progress on 6 Fat Men, yay!  Part 2 is finally completed (seemed like there was endless white to stitch on this square) so now its on to Part 3.

I should never be allowed into the bookstores when I'm already working on a project because I inevitably find something else that I JUST HAVE TO START RIGHT AWAY.  Argh!  Picked up the December 2011 issue of the British magazine Cross Stitch Collection for one pattern.  And I gnashing my teeth, trying to prevent myself from starting it right away.  The only thing stopping me is lack of a light blue piece of fabric.  So far......

Love , love, love it!  Hmm maybe a trip to the LNS isn't out of the question, I do have the time this afternoon.  Hmmmmm!!!!
