Happy Thanksgiving

Before you think I've totally lost my mind and don't know the date, it's actually happy Canadian Thansgiving today!  We had turkey and some of the trimmings for dinner tonight and it was delicious as always. I think that has to be one of my absolute favorite meals mmmm mmm good!

It was quite the rainy day Saturday and today, in fact the river is on the rise and that's never a good thing.  Usually we only have to worry about that in the spring.

I finished another small project, this time 'Happy Harvest' by Country Cottage Needleworks. They just prove time and time again that they are probably my favorite designer at the moment. Love the color palette Nikki uses and the designs are totally adorable.

And here's my latest start, it's the Autumn Sampler by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Not much progress yet but I'm hoping to sail through this project for a couple reasons.  One, it's cute! And Two, I have quite the line up of projects I want to start. I was sorting through my stash tonight setting things aside and the To Do basket is looking pretty full!  But that's a good thing.

Almost Halloween already!

Nope I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but it's been a crazy year and I'm afraid the blog was the most neglected thing.  But now that I've re set my password and can log in properly to actually post maybe  I'll do this a little more regularly.

I have been stitching away all year and tonight I finished off Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery's Halloween Sampler. It's completely adorable and even though it's a lousy picture I can't resist popping up a quick shot before bedtime just to prove I'm actually still around!

Happy Fall!

One Down

Every year I try to set a goal for the number of finishes I'd like to have. Luckily the number of WIPs never factor in or I'd be in serious trouble lol. For the past few years I've tried to do 12 larger projects and 15 ornaments, but for 2013 I think I'll try for 12 larger projects and 12 ornaments ( at least). Maybe I can even get them finished as well so I can decorate with them come Christmas time!

By larger project I consider any project that isn't officially classified as an ornament so really, I'm giving myself lots and lots of leeway LOL.

I've already made two starts this year and thankfully finished one. It's one if the Little House Needleworks ornaments!

A third of the way!

Here's my progress so far on Shakespeare's Peddlers design 'Christmas Is Coming'

A New Year

A new year, a new address.  Finally got the move out of the way and am settling in nicely.  Maybe now I can get back to some regular posting!  I've been feeling more and more guilty about ignoring this blog so perhaps I should get back in gear and get some posts up.
Just a little cold today but took the kids sledding for a little while, the hoar frost on the trees was awesome and I would have loved to have wandered around to get more pics but didn't really like the temperature LOL.

Right now I'm working on Christmas is Coming by Shakespeare's Peddler and of course I've already got a list of projects a mile long for 2013.  Love a lot of the yearlong projects some of the designers like Lizzie Kate, Country Cottage Needleworks and Little House Needleworks are releasing this year. Not that I need any more projects but ten bucks says I get all the above mentioned ones and probably a few others!

One more

Sugar Plum Fairy by Country Cottage Needleworks
28 ct Chai Tea Jobelan
DMC threads

Another quick finish in between packing boxes and schlepping garbage and recycling out to fill the bins.  The scary part: the piles of stuff in the house don't seem to be going down.  Is it possible it's all multiplying over night every night?  LOL

Getting Hectic

Things are getting hectic around here, I'm in the midst of packing up the house for a big move.  Amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in twenty plus years in the same location!

But I've managed a couple small finishes in the past week, I think the stitching is helping me stay somewhat sane LOL

First up is Pumpkin Farm by Blackbird Designs.

And second is Sampling Thanksgiving by Lizzie Kate.

I'm keeping with the Lizzie Kate theme and tonight I just started Winter ABC's. I'd started it last year but I'm not thrilled with the fabric choice, it just seems too green, so I'm restarting it on 28 ct Lambswool.
Progress pic when I actually have more than a couple stitches done on it.
